First construction and road closure update of the year for the County of Essex

The first County of Essex road closure of 2026 due to long-term construction began on Tuesday.
County Road 42, northeast of Comber in the extreme northeast corner of the County, is now closed between County Road 37 and Queen Street South (Kent Road 1) for bridge work.
CR 42 will be closed in this section for approximately nine months.
Please use caution and follow the posted detour.
