Welcome to the County of Essex website. We hope you find our website helpful and easy to navigate on your smartphone, desktop and other digital devices.
Below is an orientation to our home page, which was given a makeover when we launched our refreshed website in April 2025.
You will find our main menus at the top of the home page and every other page. On mobile devices, it appears in the top right corner. Clicking on a menu or hovering over it will show you the submenus.
You can also use the search box on our home page or click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of web pages to search the website using keywords.
Our news ticker gives you a quick view of the latest headlines. You can click on any headline to read the full item.
The "How can we help?" icons below take you straight to the web pages that have the information you need.
Want to learn more about the services the County of Essex provides? "What we do" lists the main ones and when you click on the photos you can find out more.
