County Assets and Lands Sales

Surplus equipment, land and other assets owned by the County of Essex are disposed of through specific by-laws or policies.

Sale of equipment

Section 18 of our Procurement By-law governs the sale of equipment and assets.

Our surplus equipment is frequently advertised for sale on a public auction site called GovDeals and items for sale will be also be posted on this page. 

Sale of surplus lands

By-law #26-2009 governs the process of selling land deemed surplus by the County. With the exception of specific exemptions outlined in Section 2.4, anyone is eligible to purchased offered land.
