Jane Mustac named new Director of Infrastructure Services

Jane Mustac has been appointed the new Director of Infrastructure Services/Engineer for the County of Essex. She replaces Tom Bateman, who is retiring. Monday was her first day in her new role.

Mustac started working with the County in 2006 and has most recently served as the Manager of Transportation, Planning and Development. She was responsible for the County Wide Active Transportation System in this role and oversaw a significant expansion of trails, bike lanes, and active transportation corridors throughout the County.

Mustac has been a Registered Professional Engineer for 25 years and has extensive experience in transportation and land use planning, including environmental assessments, active transportation facility design, master plans, and policy development. Prior to joining the County, Mustac gained her Qualified Professional status while working as a Senior Environmental Manager at several consulting firms.

“Jane brings a wealth of experience and engineering knowledge to this role and the department will thrive under her leadership,” said Rob Maisonville, Chief Administrative Officer for the County of Essex.

The Infrastructure Services Department has an annual budget of more than $70 million and a staff of more than 50. The department manages facilities like the Essex County Civic Centre and maintains a County road network spanning more than 1,500 km.
