Seasonal Load Limits in Effect on County Roads

Seasonal load limits on designated Essex County roads are in effect for 2025 and will remain in place while signs are posted.

Operators are advised to observe the 5 tonne per axle load restriction signs on county roads during this period.

Roads with seasonal load limits are listed on Schedule K of County of Essex By-law 2021-08 as amended.

County roads with year-round limits are listed on Schedule L of the same by-law.

Operators can plan their routes by reviewing those lists as well as this map.

Seasonal load limits are imposed during the spring, when road damage is most likely to occur. Generally, they are in place from March 1 to April 30.
