The hairstylist at the Sun Parlor Home is an independent licensed contractor who will tend to the hair styling needs of our residents. We have an amazing group of people we get to work with every day and are looking for a qualified professional to help them feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside.

This role will have flexibility in the number of hours per week and will require someone who is truly passionate about what they do.

What we are looking for is simple: Someone who will treat the members of our resident family like their own, with the experience and skill set to do so.

The hairstylist will be able to meet the challenges of working with an aging population, which includes working with residents with physical and cognitive limitations.

Many of our residents will need to be assisted to the salon for their appointment and may even require their appointment to be facilitated in their room.

As a contracted service provider, it is expected that the successful candidate will provide their own supplies and pay rent for the salon.

It is also expected that the successful candidate will be flexible to adapt their schedule in order accommodate the special requests and needs of the residents.

Flexibility is also needed in understanding that due to current pandemic and ministry and public health directions, there may be times when the salon needs to close.

There is an opportunity to receive education to ensure you are able to provide excellent person-centred care.
