Temporary Closure of County Road 42 in Tecumseh Postponed

The closure of County Road 42 between Lauzon Road and County Road 19 (Manning Road) that was planned for Sunday, April 10, has been postponed.

Hydro One requested the closure but has notified the County of Essex that it must postpone the work that requires closing the road to traffic.

The hydro line work is part of the relocation of utilities necessary for a multi-year construction project along County Road 42 in Tecumseh and Lakeshore that will include:

• The widening of County Road 42 from County Road 19 (Manning) to the City of Windsor limits to a five-lane roadway with bike lanes, sidewalks and multi-use trails.
• The building of multi-lane roundabouts on County Road 42 at County Road 19 (Manning) and a new intersection with County Road 43 (Banwell).
• The diversion and widening of County Road 43 (Banwell) from Shields Avenue to south of County Road 42.
