Library memberships
Memberships are free and provide access to:
- More than 195,501 resources like books, magazines, DVDs and videos.
- Computers and Wi-Fi access
- Early Literacy Stations designed for preschoolers
- Makerspace/Tech Kits

- Online services like ebooks, audiobooks and online videos.
Governance
The Essex County Library is funded by Essex County Council, which appoints a library board every four years in accordance with the Public Libraries Act.
The board includes four members from County Council, including the Warden (or designate), the Chief Librarian and three lay appointees.
