Employment Services (Ontario Works)

Essex County residents in need of financial support from the government can apply to Employment and Training Services, which is managed by the City of Windsor.

Ontario Works

There are 2 ways to apply for Ontario Works assistance:

1. Apply online
2. The City of Windsor Intake unit will take calls Monday to Friday between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 519-255-5600. Please have the following information with you when you call:

• Social Insurance number
• Ontario health card number
• Relevant immigration papers, if applicable
• Rental or mortgage information
• Income information such as earnings, pensions and support
• All banking and investment information
